HAIL COLUMBIA!

Composed in 1789 for the first inauguration of George Washington, “Hail, Columbia“ was originally known as The President’s March and was also one of several patriotic songs that served as unofficial United States national anthems during the 19th century (The Star-Spangled Banner became the official anthem in 1931).
