Pragyan Lunar Rover detached from Virkam Moon Lander after soft landing of Indian Chandrayaan-3

Exploration of the Moon’s surface by the Pragyan Rover began on August 24, 2023 and the analysis of possible water ice fractures using the LIMB spectrometer are started. Pragyan Lunar Rover detached Virkam Lander of the Chandrayaan-3 successfully. It already prepares to study fractures on the lunar surface to have the potential to contain valuable water ice, making them of immense interest to scientists and space agencies. Recent missions, including the Chandrayaan-3 mission, have provided evidence supporting the successful operation of the Pragyan rover on the Moon’s surface. Rover has LIBS spectrometer onboard and has enabled the analysis of the lunar regolith’s composition and has depicted indications of potential water ice fractures.
