As part of the series ’SANKHYA - The significance of numbers,’ we present Dasavatharm. This is a concept closely related to what we now call Darwin’s theory of evolution. The avatars (incarnations) start from the aquatic form Matsya and end with the unknown form Kalki that is yet to come. This song ’Parkadal alaimele’ was first written in mellifluous Tamil for the picture Raja Desingu, the Carnatic music fraternity made it their own with great enthusiasm.
