Mar Saba or The Holy Lavra of Saint Sabbas is a Monastery overlooking the Kidron Valley between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. It is a Greek-Orthodox Monastery run by Greek monks (Sabaites). In Greek the monastery is known as Ἱερὰ Λαύρα τοῦ Ὁσίου Σάββα τοῦ Ἡγιασμένου (iSyriac: ܕܝܪܐ ܕܡܪܝ ܣܒܐ, Arabic: دير مار سابا; Hebrew: מנזר מר סבא).
