Raindrop Damascus Cleaver

Hey guys! In this video I present the construction process of a damascus steel cleaver in the raindrop pattern with a handle made in Raffir. This knife is part of a three-piece set, so the first part of the forging (up to 9m 10s) will be repeated in all three videos so anyone who hasn’t seen the others can understand the full process. When I run the raindrop, I always look for organic shapes, which refer to the name of the pattern, that’s why the base is a damask with a very random number of layers (scrambling joke) and I use a drill instead of matrices in the forging. I really like cleavers because of the freedom they give us in working on their shapes, I tried to use lines that clearly marked my style in this piece.
