Jewish Genealogy: Old Myths and New Science (DNA)

Jewish Genealogy is an evolving pursuit to discover who we are and where we came from. A common misconception is that Jewish Genealogy is an impossible task – but this presentation dispels those myths and shows you how you can pursue your own family’s history. This program, hosted by the Heritage Committee of Illinois Holocaust Museum, includes an overview of the innovative science of how DNA testing has brought a new light to Holocaust research and searching for relatives. Mike Karsen, member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), and former President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois discussed these exciting new findings.
