Everyman Opera Company sings Spirituals!

Led by Choirmaster Joseph Crawford, here are members of the Everyman Opera Company performing five negro spirituals. From a European recording in 1953. The Everyman Opera Company was founded by Robert Breen and Blevins Davis. The Company’s tour of Porgy and Bess in 1955/56 was the first American theater group to perform in Russia since the Revolution in 1917. The specific singers are unidentified on this recording.
