Convalescing (1944)

Convalescing. Location of events unknown, somewhere in England. Various shots of injured servicemen being helped outside by nurses at a hospital, it is the first time many of them have been strong enough to go out since they were injured. They walk around the grounds then sit down for a rest. A nurse points out things to a young man in a bath chair. L/S as they walk about the grounds and chat with the nurses. M/S’s as nurse and patient do jigsaw puzzle, another nurse bandages a man’s arm. Two of the patients chat in the grounds. C/U of another on crutches looking at the scenery. M/S’s as the men play bowls and putting. C/U of a man with bandages around his eyes, a nurse reads to him and takes him to a bush to smell the rose on it. Two nurses lead him into the grounds, sit him down and take his bandage off, C/U smiling nurse. C/U as he puts dark glasses on and looks around smiling. They walk about and look at the scenery, he runs down to garden and trees, the nurse waves. He lies on the grass
