Étienne Léopold Trouvelot 1882 - Astronomical Drawings with Modern Comparisons

Étienne Léopold Trouvelot was a French artist, astronomer and amateur entomologist who did many observations in nature and in the heavens above. He is credited for importing and releasing the gypsy moth into the north American environment resulting in the destruction of millions of hardwood trees throughout the eastern United States. I found that information very interesting but it ultimately lead me to the artwork he later did of observations of the sky, sun, moon, and other events. I had read a couple articles showing the comparisons of his work to modern day observations and saw that they were very close to being the same. I chose to put this together showing the same concept but in video form in my style of presentation. This one took awhile to edit to show a good comparison of what I was seeing and feel I got to the place I was envisioning. I hope you enjoy the video and I thank you for watching 💖 1800s Astronomical Drawings vs. NASA Images
