This inspired me to create a complete list of all the Materials & Art Supplies I use. 👉Check My Art Supply List here: - In this abstract painting tutorial, I’ll walk you through the process of creating a light and airy botanical painting, step by step. First, I blend acrylics directly on the canvas to establish a beautifully gradient background—the first layer—which I then allow to dry completely. Next, I add another layer on top of this gradient and bring in catalyst wedges. With these, I begin to carefully scrape away parts of the top layer, revealing the colors of our initial painting underneath. After those layers I continue the painting, with my big flat brush en keep on layering colors till I find the sweet spot. The sweet spot of great color harmony, contrast and an appealing composition. I love how this acrylic painting turned out, especially the pink glow in the centre behind the leaves!
