Henryk Sztompka playing Chopin’s op. 50 no. 3 mazurka, This was part of the opening of the 1949 Chopin competition -- the first competition following the war, and the centenary of Chopin’s death.. It was important enough for Boleslaw Bierut to give a speech at the opening ceremony. Sztompka studied with Turczynski and Paderewski.
