Dominic Cummings questioned over ‘misogynistic’ messages at Covid inquiry

Boris Johnson’s former advisor, Dominic Cummings, was questioned over the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the latest round hearings at the Covid inquiry. A series of WhatsApp messages were revealed between the prime minister at the time, Boris Johnson, and senior aides and key figures within government. Further messages revealed Boris Johnson’s dismissive attitude to vulnerable people at risk of coronavirus, while Cummings was accused of ‘aggressive, foul-mouthed and misogynistic’ abuse after messages showed he tried to sack the senior civil servant Helen MacNamara.
