While in January training camp with the U.S. WNT in Los Angeles, Emily Sonnett was taken #1 in the 2016 NWSL Draft by the Portland Thorns. The first defender to top the draft in NWSL history, Sonnett sat down to talk about the honor of being selected #1 and starting her professional career in the Rose City.
