I first composed AVE MARIA as a choral work, but in a completely unusual manner, with frequently changing time signatures, and repetitions similar to recitative. A pronounced melody also appears in the upper voices, but not immediately. To my joy, the work has been well received by its performers, listeners and my publisher.
