Alastair Wilson - 006//. [Melodic Ambient] - Mother 32 and Eventide Space

Jan 29, 2018 A dark, melodic, semi-self-generating patch made on 1 Mother 32 sent through an Eventide Space hall reverb. No other processing has been applied. After 001//Slumber, I wanted to see whether I could make a similar patch using just 1 Mother 32, without using any processing inside Ableton, and without using an external MIDI clock - just a Mother 32 and an Eventide Space being recorded. This is the result, which was much better than I expected! The patch is semi-random, as the notes are sequenced. My main issues were sequence speed, and randomness; to slow the sequence down to below the internal tempo limit, I patched the square LFO to the Run/Stop input, causing the sequencer to turn off and on. To get more than 1 random voltage source I used the KB output, which, when mixed with other modulations, isn’t obvious that the ’random’ voltages are just following the note pitches.
