The statue of the Miao beauty god “Yang Asha“ is located on the bank of Yang Asha Lake in Jianhe County, Guizhou Province. The “Yang Asha“ statue started construction in November 2016 and was completed in April 2017. It is the tallest statue of the Miao beauty god in the country. The statue of “Yang Asha“ is 88 meters high, of which the base is 22 meters high and the statue is 66 meters high. It is taken from the local Miao festivals “February 2“ and “June 6“, and has the meaning of traditional Miao culture. The statue is a manifestation of Jianhe’s excellent “Yang Asha“ national culture and the creation of “Yang Asha“ cultural tourism. “Yang Asha“ is regarded as the god of beauty by the Miao people. The legend of “Yang Asha“ is still circulating in Jianhe County, Qingshuijiang, Guizhou. She symbolizes the Miao people’s praise of love and admiration for life. In Jianhe County, you can also find wells where the legendary “Yang Asha“ was born, hot springs for bathing, and lakes for swimming. “Yang Asha“, an epic originated in Jianhe, Guizhou and passed down for generations to Miao compatriots, a poignant and elegant love story about a passionate and unrestrained Miao girl, it is the Guizhou version of “Sister Liu“ and the Miao version The “Ashima“. On June 7, 2008, “Yang Asha“ declared by Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province was included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list with the approval of the State Council.
