Tang Yuan/glutinous rice flour is a Chinese dessert made with glutinous rice balls served in a sweet syrup. In this video, I’m gonna share you grandma’s secret to a delicious and chewy Tang Yuan. This recipe uses vegetables to make natural colorant for our 5-colour Tang Yuan. Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
1) Golden Yellow : 100g Pumpkin
Golden Yellow Dough : 100g Glutinous rice flour 100g pumpkin
2) Purple : 100g Purple Sweet Potato
Purple Dough :100g Glutinous rice flour 100g purple potato 75ml hot water
3) Red : 20g Beetroot 110ml water
Red dough : 100g Glutinous rice flour 85ml hot beetroot juice
4) Green : 18g Pandan leaves 120ml water
Green dough: 100g glutinous rice flour 85ml hot Pandan Juice
5) white : 100g Glutinous rice flour 85ml hot water
Ginger syrup:
1.5 litre water
150g sugar
25g sliced ginger
pandan leaves
