Sometimes you fuck up when working with a band you love and then it’s on you to do better. The first time I saw Venezuela’s ZETA @joinzeta was back in 2018 when I hit up a Birds In Row/Portrayal of Guilt show in Philly and was unexpectedly blown away by this opening band I had never heard of. I was told they were stranded in the US and couldn’t go back home to Venezuela and basically just hopped from city to city to play shows on an endless tour. They’ve racked up well over 1000 shows and in the process have become one of the most captivating collectives to see live. I filmed them again a month later and had them over my house for an interview about their story (it’s on YouTube) while Dani made us arepas.
