Peloma Bokiou - Same ( 1972 Greece Psychedelic ,Classic Rock ) Full Album

Peloma Bokiou were formed in the Spring of 1970 in Athens, by Vlassis Bonatsos (vocals), Nikos Daperis (guitar), Takis Marinakis (drums), Nikos Logothetis (piano) and Yannis Kiourktsoglou (guitar). Daperis and Kiourktsoglou were cousins, and had previously played together in The Loubogg. The band’s name came from syllables from the members’ surnames. They appeared live for the first time in the fall of 1970 (playing covers by Santana, Traffic, Rolling Stones, etc), and also released the single “Γαρύφαλλε, Γαρύφαλλε / Μην Κλαις“ (both songs written by Kiourktsoglou) the same year. In March 1971, Kiourktsoglou leaves, and is replaced first by Lakis Zois and a little later by Takis Androutsos (previsouly of Μπουρμπούλια). Also in 1971, Logothetis gives his place to Yorgos Stefanakis, and Elias Marinakis is added on bass. In 1972, two singles were released by the group, followed by their eponymous debut album. Recordings for the album were done in a single day. The record is a considered an important release for the Greek Rock scene of the 70’s, with the music press of their time characterizing it as a Greek version of Santana. On December 25, 1972, they played together with “Socrates Drunk the Conium“ and “Exadactylos“ in a historic concert at Sporting stadium. In the last period of the group’s existence, Daperis, Bonatsos and Takis Marinakis, were joined by British musicians Chris Perkins and Vic Martins. With this line-up, they released another single, ’’Οι Μάγοι / Προγραμματισμός’’. The group disbanded in 1973. Bonatsos went on to release a few solo albums, eventually gaining fame as an actor and TV show host.
