To create “Dot“, Aardman’s in-house production technology engineer, Lew Gardiner worked alongside the Physics Department at the University of Bristol to create their own CellScope production camera. Aardman used Rapid Prototyping 3D printing technology to translate the character’s poses from 3D computer models into resin. The character was then painted under a microscope and animated using tweezers. Aardman co-director Ed Patterson: “It became a real test of working at such a small scale, and in having the patience to push on through ’til the end. The final film has come out better than we could have hoped for. It was great collaborating with Wieden Kennedy and to gel so well creatively. The Nokia N8 stood up to the challenge and produced some outstanding images.“ For Nokia Senior marketing manager/CD: Russell Anderson Senior marketing manager/creative marketing: Daniel Goodall For Wieden Kennedy CDs: Tony Davidson, Kim Papworth, Scott Dungate Creatives: Mark McCall, Richard Dorey Producers: Lucy Russell, Lucie Georgeson Account director: Natasha Markley For Aardman Animations Director: Sumo Science Producers: Laura Pepper, Jason Bartholomew EP: Heather Wright PAs: Scott Metcalf, Nick Miller, Louise Johnson DOP: Mark Chamberlain Lead Flame: Will Studd Assist Flame: Fincher Trist Editor: Nikk Fielden Sound: Wave Studios London Sound designer: Aaron Reynolds Music composer: Michael Sims Follow us on: Google : And our affiliate social networks: Twitter: Facebook
