Winter spearfishing escape to the Mediterranean sea - searching for sea bass

My wife bought me some cheap flights for Christmas to go spearfishing somewhere in Europe for a weekend. I hadn’t been diving for a few months due to the terrible weather in the UK in November and December. £63 return flights and I was off to one of the most challenging places to fish in Europe. We were targeting sea bass (spigola) and hoping for some gilt head sea bream (orata) along with the usual fish such as sargo, mullet & snappers.
