BIRKENSTOCK People | This Birkenstock Life – Andy the Photographer

THIS BIRKENSTOCK LIFE EPISODE 3 – MEET ANDY GUO THE PHOTOGRAPHER Every step Taiwanese Photographer Andy Guo takes is grounded in the BIRKENSTOCK footbed. Specializing in capturing with his camera the happiest moments of lives well lived, he’s well aware of the connection between happy feet and a happy life. Initially, as an occupational therapist, photography emerged as simply a stress-busting creative outlet and a refreshing break from his busy clinical practice. “I started taking pictures with my family and close friends on my time off…” he says. “...but the more I took pictures, the more skilled I became.” News of Andy’s skill in capturing the essence of a family moment spread through word-of-mouth through his friendship and coworker network. BIRKENSTOCK, meanwhile, had been interwoven with Andy’s life from his early days at high school. “I used to always wear sneakers…” he recalls… “....but the first time I slipped on my Birkenstocks, my feet felt completely different.” It was also in 2017 that Andy married Tina, who shares his love of BIRKENSTOCK. The couple now has a young family of their own. Needless to say, Tina and little Peco are the foundation stones not only of Andy’s family life but his professional and artistic inspiration. The footbed is a thread that connects the joy he feels internally - and that which he brings to the wider world through his work. “Maybe birds of a feather flock together. I wear Birkenstock because I don’t like to be restrained. That’s perfect for work, play, and family life.” #BIRKENSTOCKPeople #Photographer #ThisBirkenstockLife
