Debut full-length from this killer project by the Czech tyrant, Vaérmiyr (MBN). Following up to the “Forest Tribes Triumphant“ demo, and the killer promo single earlier this year, Arzhbaat now unleashes its full force with this 49-minute album of epic, ancient Black Metal worship. Themed around the battle of Veligrad, Arzhabaat delivers triumphant Black Metal, influenced by the Finnish hordes, as well as reminiscing with acts like Vothana or Volksraad. Primitively delivered but much aptly composed, “In Veligrad Shadows“ revolves around powerful, bludgeoning riffage that still maintains its melodicism, always at blasting speed, accompanied by the bulldozing basslines and the diverse vocal style traversing from raspy screams of war, to epic chants.
