Haṃsaḥ Mantra

Śrī Haṃsaḥ-mantra is given in the Kulārṇava Tantra as the highest mantra. It expresses the bliss of Śiva and Śakti’s highest form. The Ardhanārīśvara which combines both Their blissful forms into one half-male, half-female form. This expresses the completion of Kuṇḍalinī yoga. The syllable haṃ is chanted mentally with the out-breath, and the syllable saḥ is chanted with the in-breath. This leads to deep awareness of the quality of breathing, which Buddha says leads to “...eliminate every notion of worry and sorrow, obtain the great fruit, and taste the sweet nectar of immortality.” Haṃsaḥ also means swan in Sanskrit. The visuals come from various photos of swans, processed with graphic synthesizer software to resemble artistic paintings. You can download the audio here: ṃsaḥ
