Crocodile zither — Khmer

Crocodile Zither — Khmer This zither is called kropeu (literally “crocodile“). It’s no longer played in Cambodia. The last Khmer zither player passed away a few years ago in Surin, Thailand. This instrument was rebuilt under the direction of Patrick Kersalé from an original kept in the museum of the Cambodian Cultural Village in Siem Reap. Now the musical troupe, “Sounds of Angkor“, renews the disappearing tradition. © Patrick Kersalé 2016 Cithare crocodile — Khmer Cette cithare dénommée kropeu (littérale
