Blue-tongued Skink - Movement of the Forelimbs During Locomotion

This 3D-animation shows the movement of the shoulder girdle and the forelimbs during belly-dragging locomotion of the Blue-tongued Skink (Tiliqua scincoides) at metres/sec. Note how the shoulder girdle is held very low above the ground, leaving the belly and breast in almost constant contact with the substrate.
