We haven’t seen the owlets in over a week so I repositioned one of our tree cameras down to the birdbath to see what kind of visitors are dropping by. Lots of thirsty robins, grackles, blue jays and a couple of cardinals. Last night while watching the hockey game, I got an alarm from the camera that there was activity. From the deck we could see one owlet in the birdbath and the other three zipping through the yard. Mom owl watched from the magnolia tree and Dad from the peak of our roof. Shortly into the clip you’ll hear a thump and a loud raspy call. That was an owlet landing right on top of the birdbath camera. You can also see an owlet land on one of our solar garden lights which turns it on and off as it moves its butt around. They visited for over 20 minutes before following Mom off to hunt. The owlets are seven weeks old now and it was great to see them all doing so well.
