Kalari Kendram is dedicated to teaching Kalaripayattu, an ancient martial arts form from Kerala, southern India, which is believed to be the very thing which gave birth to Shaolin kung fu and jiu-jitsu., Despite a longtime ban under British rule, the practice of kalaripayattu have been passed down by masters who are leading a revival of the form. Kalari Kendram with a Kalaripayattu temple was established in 2008 in the National Capital Region (NCR) Delhi with the aim to impart training while keeping the founding principles of this tradition at its core.
