Get the free pattern here: Welcome back to Pattern Poole TV! In this tutorial, we give you a brief introduction to home handbag sewing on a domestic sewing machine. Monica Poole has been designing handbags for over 20s and has designed numerous handbag sewing patterns. To celebrate them all being converted to PDF format, we have created this tutorial to kick off our handbag series with a bang. In this tutorial, you will see how to make a baguette bag on a domestic sewing machine. A Baguette is a small compact handbag that is carried on a short strap; it was originally designed by the Italian fashion company Fendi in 1997. These small, sleek bags were a huge trend in the late 1990s and early 2000s and could be found in an array of colours and textures. In recent years, the Baguette has made a comeback! This is our version. It’s a stylish shape with a top curved zipper, rounded at the bottom, a side gusset and a gathered strap. It’s a basic shape for you to personalise in your own way; add some pockets or change up the strap; it’s up to you! This little PDF pattern and YouTube tutorial is a gift from us to you; we hope you like it! Size: Height: 15 cm (6”) high. Width: 23.5 cm (9 ¼”).
