Gumbet was in the past, a small and sleepy fishing village however the last twenty years has seen it grow to be a favourite holiday destination for many nationalities. It is now known as a lively hot spot on the Aegean coast of Turkey and is fast building a reputation for vibrant nightlife and exciting water sports.
Gumbet is the direct neighbour of Bodrum town centre. It can be reached by catching a local bus (called a dolmus) from Bodrum and the journey time is approximately 10 minutes. Due to the close distance, taxi fares are also cheap. From Bodrum airport, Gumbet can be reached by following the D330 south (Bodrum – Mugla highway). The distance is 40 km and this is a short transfer time of just an hour.
