In February 1974 the Met planned the first color TV live broadcast for the Tales of Hoffmann production conducted by Richard Bonynge starring Dame Joan Sutherland in all soprano roles with Placido Domingo as Hoffmann and Hugette Tourangeau as Nicklausse. This performance was never aired due to lighting and sound problems. Here is the famous Olympia aria as video taped on that occasion. You shall be missed dear Joan!
