Bokken vs Spear from After the Rain (雨あがる, Ame agaru)

After the Rain (雨あがる, Ame agaru) is a 1999 Japanese and French film, based on the last script written by Akira Kurosawa. From martial arts, I’ve met Japanese men as good, positive and strong in character and skill as the film’s protagonist ronin kenjutsu master Misawa Ihei. Well worth watching for its several action scenes and revelations about Japanese relationships of the age. Some of these cultural aspects remain to this day. The clip shows the protagonists vs bushi of the daimyo (who will come to employ the protagnonist) in a match with wooden swords (bokken) and then bokken vs a spear with a live blade wielded by the daimyo himself.
