Andrey Sayanskiy - Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces: Tools for modern wireless communication
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are promising and relatively low-cost tools for improving signal propagation in wireless communications. A RIS assists a base station (BS) in optimizing the channel and maximizing its capacity by dynamically manipulating the reflected field. I this talk i focus my attention on demonstration the features of 1-bit RIS as well as synthesis issues of unit-cells geometries. Moreover, I discuss the advantages and drawbacks of various controlling elements used in reflectarrays.
