➡️ I’ve had requests for Rancid’s “Axiom“ for a solid year now, but I recently got wind of it being a sort of...“Maxwell Murder“ Part 2? This was also recently one of the highest-voted tracks from our Patreon community, so I’m back to hear Matt Freeman tear me a new one. Again. These 100-second tracks fly by, but I was able to get the song’s bluesy chord progression down before putting his crazy bass solo under the microscope. I discuss how Matt tends to “storyboard“ his solos, how he builds them, how it leans into the “Dorian“ scale mode, precisely why he’s such a unique player, some parallels I heard after recently learning the “Maxwell Murder“ solo myself, and more! 🤯
