Rokoko / Max Emanuel Cencic

Johann Adolf Hasse: Arias from Operas and Orchestral Pieces Max Emanuel Cenci, counter tenor Armonia Atenea George Petrou, conductor Rokoko, the new program by Max Emanuel Cencic, presents tunes from the pen of a great master of the 18th century, Johann Adolf Hasse (1699-1783), at the Arsenal in Metz. Acclaimed by critics, the countertenor interprets arias taken from the most beautiful among the seventy or so operas by Hasse that have come down to us. Hasse, one of the most famous and prolific composers of opera seria, was known as il padre della musica and enjoyed European fame during a career spanning more than six decades. His music expresses all the affetti of this period, from the exquisite delicacy of the sostenuto arias to the burning passion of the arie di bravura. Max Emanuel Cencic, winner of the prestigious Echo Klassik award in 2012, is the perfect performer for this program which highlights both remarkable music and the vocal and dramatic abilities of the singer. He is accompanied by the superb Armonia Atenea ensemble under the direction of its internationally renowned conductor, George Petrou. 1.
