Ensemble playing traditional Tibetan music using ten niujiaoqin of various sizes along with a female vocalist and pre-recorded synthesizer music. The vocalist sings in Chinese rather than Tibetan throughout. The niujiaoqin (牛角琴, literally “cow horn stringed instrument“) is a huqin (胡琴, vertical fiddle) with a resonator made from a cow horn that is covered on the wide end with snakeskin, which is used as a traditional instrument in Tibetan culture.
