Western AF presents Dean Johnson | “Faraway Skies“ ... After more than 15 years of playing music, Dean Johnson’s debut album “Nothing for Me, Please“ is releasing the first week of May. It took us planning the first-ever Western AF Showcase to finally get Dean to Wyoming. Getting this man from Seattle, which people had heard little about, was our top priority. Dean entranced the audience with his transcendental voice and impossibly clever lyrics. Now that we finally had him in Wyoming we took full advantage and captured this performance that we had been waiting on for years. The song, “Faraway Skies“ felt like our white whale. As much as we toiled in the planning of this vid, a lot of it came down to improv — embracing what the day will bring for light, the weather, and Dean’s performance was hard to commit to one concept for how to capture this video.
