Calochortus tolmei with Pollinators

Different floral visitors of Calochortus tolmei in Rogue River, OR. Many of the small bees circle the base of the stamens, collecting nectar from the nectaries which appear as purplish splotches at the base of the petals. This behavior, unfortunately was not recorded because these small bees are very weary of large animals, including humans, hovering over them to take a picture or record their behavior.
