Holy Moses - Holy Moses!! 1971 (USA, Hard Rock)   Only album from Woodstock ( NY ) . Author of all the album’s songs - keyboardist Billy Batson. Billy arrived at the U.S. East Coast from California and played solo for a while in the town of Woodstock institutions . After his concerts he used to sit somewhere with a bottle of “ Jack Daniels “ and listen to the speeches of other artists. So one day he met a group of “Holy Moses“. Musicians loved him as a potential executors of his plans . He offered to come together to record a series of his songs ready . The group quickly unlearn Batson songs and played them in institutions of the city, yet rumor has not reached Albert Grossman . This famous American music manager often spun in Woodstock, as in rural surroundings in the neighborhood lived his team - Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and the band “The Band“. Grossman , like any entrepreneur , was hungry for new talent. He quickly became involved with “Holy Moses“ and agreed with them about the management and record producer which was already appointed Rick Danko of “The Band“. However, the agreement was only in words, not bonded papers. Soon the band’s noticed Michael Jeffery , manager of Jimi Hendrix , who never missed a talent , clinging to him in a stranglehold . He managed to convince the guys to work with him . Jeffrey signed “Holy Moses“ now monster record “RCA“, and which in 1971 released the album “Holy Moses!!“. The album was recorded at the newly constructed Jimi Hendrix “Electric Lady Studios“ in New York . Producers album: Kim King and Mike Esposito . Mike played in a psychedelic rock band “Blues Magoos“, and Kim King was guitarist “Lothar And The Hand People“ and in 1966 was friends with Jimi Hendrix ... Songs Batson differ humor and directness, but musically it’s hard rock , which is combined with country and blues influences. Album “Holy Moses!!“ Failed commercially at the time, although over the years has gained a cult status among fans of the psychedelic era rarities .
