() About the video: “I was recently lent some old Video 8 cassettes from a friend who was one of the former bosses of Bar Le Lezard in Montreal. I had asked him if he happened to have any footage of my shows that I had done back in the day. They’d mostly filmed the drag queen shows but on this one occasion, they filmed me singing “Listen, The Snow Is Falling”. It was shot in 1990, hand held and badly recorded. I was 6 months pregnant and at the time wearing braces. The very much loved barman Alain was leaving Montreal in December to live in New Orleans for a much warmer climate, where he would not be seeing any snow. The famous drag queen Madame Simone introduces me and explains, in Montreal, snow has romantic symbolism; people coming together for warmth, if you get what I’m saying.“ — Princess Demeny
