Agogwe: Ape Man of East Africa

The Agogwe is an alleged ape-like cryptid from the forests of East Africa. Said to stand roughly 4-5 feet tall, this creature strongly resembles the extinct Australopithecines that inhabited the region during the Pliocene. Could these ancient human relatives still exist in the area, or could this be a case of mistaken identity?
