Plectrum Quintet “Giuseppe Anedda” and Maria Tomassi

The Plectrum Quintet “Giuseppe Anedda” is named after the famous Italian mandolinist whose concerts and constant research in the museums and libraries worldwide led to a reappraisal of the mandolin. The quintet will perform together with soprano Maria Tomassi, leading a journey through the Italian classic and folk repertoire. The first part of the concert will include some of the most famous opera arias for soprano such as the aria of Rosina Una voce poco fa from Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, Casta Diva from Norma by Vincenzo Bellini and o Porgi, amor, qualche ristoro from Le Nozze di Figaro by Amadeus Mozart. After that soprano Maria Tomassi will take the audience on an imaginary journey to Naples, performing a selection of Neapolitan songs from Passione, and Reginella, to ‘I te vurria vasà. Immortal masterpieces that have made Neapolitan music a true symbol of Italy across the world.
