John Robert Waughman (geboren 29 maart 1951), beter bekend als Johnny Warman , is een Engelse Singer-Songwriter, vooral bekend van zijn album uit 1981, Walking Into Mirrors en de hitsingle “Screaming Jets“. Warman werd geboren in Bethnal Green , Londen, Engeland, en verhuisde op zevenjarige leeftijd naar Hackney . In het huis van Warman was er altijd muziek zoals zijn vader en moeder beiden zongen. Geïnspireerd door de Beatles toen hij 11 jaar oud was, toen hij hun lied “ Love Me Do “ hoorde spelen op een Dansette platenspeler, trad hij toe tot het schoolkoor en in 1964 werd hij uitgekozen om te zingen in het Royal Opera House in Tosca en Pagliachi met Maria Callas en Tito Gobbi. Warman sloot zich op school aan bij een band genaamd Sounds Like Six. Als fervent fan vanThe Rolling Stones en The Who bezocht hij vele live muziekpodia van die tijd. Warman volgde andere bands als The Iveys en Pink Floyd en werd een fervent lezer van Melody Maker .
