This piece is not like what we mostly expect when we listen to Thalberg or Liszt’s concert works. It’s somewhat rather EXPERIMENTAL just like his 60 etudes which makes it unique and outstanding. There are some odd passages and drastic key modulations. There are also baffling techniques, too. I think Mereaux already had thought some better way to compose, but he just intended it to be like this. With a great amount of help of Seonyong Hwang who I deeply admire his renditions of forgotten composers repertoire, I finally have finished both transcribing and putting interpretations.
