Marco Tamayo`s routine, before practice starts - no warm up before the capricio
Not long ago, I promised my friend Gabriel Bianco that I would record some Capricci by N. Paganini naked, just awakened. And here it is, but I still took the necessary precautions and got dressed before going down from the bedroom. (In case of great interest, if there is a lot of insistence, I will do it without the precautionary measures, but I do not take responsibility for the collateral damage ok?)
Now more seriously: this is part of my routine. Playing complete works without warm up is a necessary part of the practice process. While doing it many things are or should be checked, the relaxation in first place, the breathing, the prevention of possible errors that may occur, anticipating ourself and preventing exponentially, etc ... If the effort is minimal and the interpretation and performance are based on naturally and not on exceptions, everyone can do it. Only then I can direct the practice to the places where the mind and the body did not travel parallel in space. In the end, that’s all about:
