Visit Visit our website Made in the late 1920s or early 1930s as part of Kodak’s educational film library, this silent Eastman Classroom Film takes the viewer to Hungary. It begins with a map of Hungary and the effects of the Treaty of Trianon, which saw Austria-Hungary divided up in 1919. It begins with the rural character of the country, showing different crops being harvested, cattle herding, and swamp draining. This is followed by some footage of daily life in a small town including a market and a wedding scene. Next is Budapest, with stunning shots of some of the main attractions such as the Danube, House of Parliament, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the municipal concert hall.
