Plecos are not a single species of fish but rather a large group of armored catfish. These fish can get massive, reaching more than three feet () in length! Plecos are from Central and South America, but they have been introduced to other parts of the world. These introductions have lead to habitat destruction by pleocs - who are just living their lives as best they can in places they wouldn’t naturally be.
