Depp’s Generous Gesture Actor Donates Heard’s $1M Settlement to Charities
Amber Heard has finally paid the $1 million settlement she owed to her ex-husband Johnny Depp after their bitter legal battle over defamation claims. Depp, who sued Heard for suggesting he abused her in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, announced that he will donate the money to five different charities of his choice.
The charities are: Make-A-Film Foundation, which helps children with serious medical conditions to make their own films; The Painted Turtle, which provides camp experiences for children with chronic illnesses; Red Feather, which builds sustainable housing for Native American communities; Tetiaroa Society, which supports environmental conservation and cultural preservation in French Polynesia; and Amazonia, which protects the Amazon rainforest and its indigenous peoples.
