Our galaxy is big! And it’s full of gas and dust -- just because your eyes can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Here’s a simulated 3D view of the middle of our galaxy made entirely from data originating from the Spitzer Space Telescope’s infrared view of our sky.
