The last weekend in June, trail builders from 12 communities from across the Navajo Nation came together for an IMBA Trail Care School to tune up trails in time for the 3rd annual Rezduro.
Rezduro, if you haven’t heard, is the first indigenous-led mountain bike enduro held yearly since 2021 in Hard Rock, Arizona.
According to IMBA Community Engagement Coordinator Joey Klein, this site was perfect for the collaborative partnership. “We have these green circle, family level right here (close to Rezduro HQ) and then you have intermediate/advanced over there (further out). All based out of one spot.”
Hear from Rezduro founders/organizers and four trail builders as they reflect on the weekend of sharing, building, and learning. These open conversations, discussions of best practices and hands-on dirt and rock work will no doubt have a ripple effect as mountain biking continues to grow momentum across the Diné Bikeyah.
Thanks to @rezduro organizer/co-founder Adrian Herder for the drone footage of the Rezduro trail system and site.
